NEW RE-MASH: Bodied Sweat-DJ MikeLove x Beyonce x The Dream

DJ MikeLove x Get Me Bodied x Sweat It Out

Beyoncé

Beyoncé has picked up yet another award over the weekend, she has been voted “The World's Greatest Popstar” by viewers of ‘4Music’.
Beyoncé fought off competition from nine acts including Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Take That.
Over 100,000 music fans took part in the online vote and Beyoncé was announced as the winner with a special tribute at the T4 ‘Stars Of 2009’ live show at London's Earls Court yesterday.
“We're really excited to announce the winner of our 12 week search to unveil the world's greatest popstar. Pop music remains the cornerstone of great British music and it is only right that we recognise and honour the best talent in this category,” head of T4 Neil McCallum said.
“Beyoncé is a true global superstar and is well known for her flexible artistic style, from her powerful R&B ballads through to her brilliant dance anthems.
“It is no great surprise that she's won the hearts and minds of our audiences and so deserves the title of the World's Greatest Popstar.”
Beyoncé's ‘Crazy In Love’ was also named the best song of the decade by music magazine NME.
I personally voted for Madonna ...

Hey Monday - How You Love Me Now

Pussycat Dolls

Today could be a sad day for all ... The Pussycat Dolls have reportedly split.
According to the ‘New York Post’, Nicole Scherzinger's relationship with her band mates has continued to deteriorate after previous rows.
A source said: “It is war. They have broken up for good. None of the other girls are speaking to Nicole, who they believe took the limelight then went off to do her own thing.”
Interscope records though have claimed that the group are only “On a break”and a record label representative did not respond to contact from the newspaper.
Band member Kimberly Wyatt recently admitted in an interview that she does not consider Scherzinger a friend and has also described the group as a “brand”
I for one will be sad to see the end, I went to see them at The O2, Dublin in February and they were brilliant!

Rihanna

If you’re still wondering where to bring in 2010 then here’s a suggestion: Rihanna will reportedly receive $500,000 (£299,000) for her first ever performance in the Middle East
She will be performing at the ‘Emirates Palace Hotel’ in Abu Dhabi this New Year's Eve, (according to Page Six).
A spokeswoman for Rihanna did not comment, however a source said: “She was supposed to perform back in May [in Abu Dhabi], but she cancelled in the aftermath of the assault, this is a make-up date.”

Previous performances at the hotel by artists such as Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay and Elton John have attracted up to 15,000 music fans

Mika

Mika has said that he wrote the final song that Stephen Gately recorded with ‘Boyzone’ before he died last month.Mika revealed that he often writes material for other acts under a different name.“I wrote a song which Boyzone then recorded,” he told ‘BBC Breakfast’. “I think it was the last thing Stephen Gately recorded before he passed away.“We're waiting to see what happens with that. I think they're putting together something.“I write songs for other people under different names most of the time. I have a little family of three names. One of them has been discovered - it's Alice. I feel like I can step into an alter-ego, it's more fun. I like writing songs and a lot of them aren't necessarily for me.”
Will be interesting to see the credits of the next Boyzone album huh…

Enrique Iglesias

Unless you’ve been living in a cave all week you would of seen the buzz (and hopefully some stills) from Enrique Iglesias’s video for the single “Sad Eyes”
If you were in a cave fear not! ‘cos Alan Whiteman has the video below for you in full… Be warned... it's not for the faint hearted ~ but it's flippin' good huh!
As for the song… what song, I wasn’t listening!

Mini Viva

Mini Viva are back with their new single titled: “I wish”, although a dance song it’s far from as good as “I left my heart in Tokyo” – (Yes, I actually like that song! ~ Lol)
It should actually chart pretty well because of the younger crowd that may have seen them supporting “The Saturday” on tour this year.
The single is released on 7th December.

Simon Curtis - Delusional

A suivre !

Susan Boyle

Mmm… I bet Simon Cowell (and his bank manager) will be happy with the news that Susan Boyle's new debut album “I Dreamed A Dream” has achieved the largest global CD pre-orders in the history of Amazon.
The album, which is released on 23rd November, has exceeded the previous record set by Japanese rock group ‘Mr Children's’ “Supermarket Fantasy” in 2008.
“Just eight months ago, no-one was aware of the talents of Susan Boyle. Now, she has generated more Amazon pre-order CD sales globally than any other artist,” Julian Monaghan said.
“That is an incredible achievement and is testament to the fact that she has captured the hearts of people all over Britain, America and the rest of the world.”
Columbia Records Chairman Steve Barnett added: “One of the things that is so unique about Susan Boyle is her ability to touch people around the world. We're excited that “I Dreamed A Dream” holds the new record for global pre-orders and that Amazon's customers have supported her album in this way.”

Rihanna

Rihanna (Who has sold a massive 12 million albums to date) wanted to make a move from her R’n’B / Pop roots to a heavy metal sound on her new album Rated R,
Rihanna reportedly asked guitarist Nuno Bettencourt from US band ‘Extreme’ to work with her, but was persuaded by her record label to choose other producers.
“I've been asked to play with pop artists in the past but turned them down because they didn't really get the vibe,” Bettencourt is quote as saying “But when I spoke to Rihanna she was totally into transforming herself into a heavy rock chick. She was listening to ‘Led Zeppelin’ and new acts like ‘Paramore’ and said that was the direction she wanted to go, so I said yes.
I think the label had a seizure, so they went down another route.”
Thank god is what I say! – her last album “Good girl gone bad” was just a master pieceRihanna releases new album “Rated R” on 23rd November and I hope to find it in my Christmas stocking

Discovery Place announces new exhibition

From a Discovery Place press release that just popped into our inbox:

CHARLOTTE, N.C.Discovery Place is elevating its cool factor! The Museum introduces Cool Stuff, the first in a series of exhibition openings featuring all-new exhibits on Friday, Nov. 27. Also premiering is Explore More Stuff, a brand-new, interactive lab area.

Cool Stuff kicks off the transformation of Discovery Place as part of the largest renovation in the Museum’s 28-year history.

“This is a major milestone for Discovery Place as we reveal the first step towards the complete transformation of the Museum,” said John Mackay, president and CEO for Discovery Place. “Guests will be amazed at the changes they experience in the Museum. And this is only the beginning as we continue to unveil all-new exhibitions from now through June 2010.”

Designed to demonstrate physical phenomenon in unique and eccentric ways, Cool Stuff allows visitors to launch objects into the air, lie on a bed of nails, crush a garbage can or use a laser to listen to secret messages.*

Featuring a gallery of interactive displays and contraptions, Cool Stuff allows guests to experience physics phenomena through hands-on participation and applications that demonstrate why things do the things they do.

Visitors become involved in their science lesson and achieve an understanding of scientific concepts through interaction and experimentation, mixed with an element of surprise. Secret features embedded within exhibit pieces provide an element of mystery to be solved by avid participants.

“With the renovation, we wanted to demonstrate that science is everywhere and the scientific process is always revealing new ideas,” said Mackay. “Cool Stuff shows guests what’s fun about science, what’s important about science and ultimately, what’s cool about science.”

The collection of multi-dimensional exhibits allows guests to uncover the extraordinary wonders of science, math, technology and more. Visitors can discover the beauty and strangeness of physics; look at the world in new ways; become aware of new scientific concepts and discover the science behind why things do the things they do.

Cool Stuff is highlighted by three, main areas:

LIFT

“What goes up, must come down” is a fundamental but fun principle of physics. Activities in this area focus on the physics of lifting - making things go up and the challenge of keeping them up against the inevitable force of gravity. Participants can launch objects by utilizing electromagnetic forces or by the explosive force of a chemical reaction. Guests also can experience “full body lift” with an all-new, vacuum-powered chairlift.

LOOK/MOVE

Focusing on the strange and beautiful feats of physics that involve motion, light and heat, exhibits featured in this section illuminate bizarre aspects of the physical world. Using basic tools of science – observation and manipulation – visitors will experience a zone of weird happenings that delight the mind and senses. Guests can explore the invisible light that the human body radiates all day long or bend light around a corner using fiber optics. Other features introduce the element of spin to a seemingly mundane object, only to produce bizarre forces and motion that are totally unexpected.

PUSH

Visitors can explore concepts of mechanical advantage, energy transfer and air pressure in PUSH. Examining how forces make objects move, visitors can perform amazing feats of strength such as crushing a garbage can, winning an impossible tug of war match and shooting a powerful basketball-sized pocket of air that can be felt 30 feet away.

To cool down from “lifting”, “looking” and “pushing”, guests can further investigate and view more applications of chemistry, physics and engineering at Explore More Stuff. Located across from Cool Stuff, Explore More Stuff presents a lab-like environment where matter and energy are explored and tested. Facilitated by experts, kids and adults can experiment with forces that are controlled only by the laws of physics and chemistry.

Participants can design, create and implement their own projects and experiments using

real tools of science. New eureka moments can be experienced in Explore More Stuff as the topics and themes change monthly. Programs present three to six different inquiry-based design challenges allowing guests to become hands-on participants. Science themes include forces, chemical reactions, engineering, robotics, solar power, magnetism and electricity and more.

Cool Stuff marks the first of all-new exhibition areas to be showcased in a completely renovated and revitalized Discovery Place. At the completion of the renovation, set to conclude in June 2010, Discovery Place will showcase all-new, interactive exhibitions that present science and technology in a contemporary way. The renovation also features an improved infrastructure and a brighter, fresher look for the Museum.

Beginning, Friday, Nov. 27, admission to Discovery Place will be $10 for adults (14-59); $8 for seniors (60 and older) and children (2-13); free for children younger than 2. Discounts are available for Discovery Place Members and for groups of 15 or more.

Sugababes

The original members of the Sugababes have reportedly hired Peter Andre's manager Claire Powell to help them make a comeback!
According to the UK newspaper ‘The Sun’, the three girls: Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy met last week and have decided to move ahead with a planned reunion.
A record label source said: “The comeback is gathering momentum, Mutya had a lot of convincing to do to get the girls around the table to sort things out. That happened last week and they are all game to give it a go”
They added: “Mutya's manager knows he needs some muscle to make it a commercial success and he's called in his old pal Claire.
“The other girls are delighted to be back in touch. They are bang up for it with the new management team. They are now looking for a record deal and have started planning for a big launch next year.”
This is dispite Keisha’s manger saying earlier this month that she’s concentrating on her solo career and “is definitely, 100% not going to be involved in any kind of Sugababes reformation”.
Watch this space is all I can say …

Bill Coleman

Leona Lewis - Echo

I Want To Know What Love Is").

Le pire à mon goût étant sans doute de n'avoir pas retrouvé toute la magie de "Spirit" (mes préférées : "Yesterday", "I Will Be", "Footprints In The Sand", "Take A Bow", "Run", "Forgive Me", "The Best You Never Had" et "Bleeding Love").

Voici d'après moi les singles potentiels : "Lost When Found", "Outta My Head", "Stop Crying Your Heart Out".

Nickelback - Never Gonna Be Alone

J'adore Nickelback.

J'adore Nickelback.

Sarah Harding

Another Girls Aloud member breaks away from the band to record solo material, this time it’s the turn of Sarah Harding.
She has recorded three solo songs for the soundtrack to her upcoming movie St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold.
The tracks “Too Bad”, “Make It Easy” and a cover of David Bowie's “Boys Keep Swinging”
“We can now announce that Sarah has recorded three exclusive tracks for the soundtrack to her new film St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold,” a message on Girls Aloud's MySpace reads.
“As well as playing the character of Roxy, Sarah has worked with Xenomania on three songs for the album” … also on the album is Girls Aloud's live performance of Kaiser Chiefs' “I Predict A Riot” at Wembley.
The original soundtrack to St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold is scheduled for release on December 14.
Bad time for her to release anything considering the success Cheryl Cole has had huh … Do you think she can be as big?

Madonna

Unless you have Madonna’s “Greatest Hits” collection you probably haven’t heard this track so here it is …
Madonna Feat… Lil Wayne “Revolver” It’s a brilliant track and I only hope she releases it as her next single!

Even if your not a Madonna fan, you’ve got to admit that this track is just FANTASTIC!

The girls made up of sisters Cleo, Yonah and Zainam, will do a show at ‘Embassy’ in London on 17th November.
Cleo said “We are here to reclaim our true position in the pop world,” Yonah added: “Our natural connection as sisters is so much stronger; it shows in our music and live performances. We're hotter, solid and tighter than ever.”
Cleopatra had massive success in the later 90’s with Top 10 singles like “Cleopatra's Theme”, “Life Ain't Easy” and “I Want You Back” in 1998.
They were even snapped up by Madonna's Maverick record label in the US. I still think “Cleopatra’s theme” is a great pop song! ~ Tickets are priced from £7 and are available now.

Avril Lavigne - I Will Be

Rihanna

Rihanna has been confirmed to be a mentor and she’ll be performing on ‘The X Factor’ later this month.
Rihanna is expected to sing her new single “Russian Roulette” from her fourth studio album titled “Rated R” (which is released on 23rd November).
Rihanna said: “I am beyond excited - it was the easiest decision I've ever made. A lot of people watch the show over here on YouTube and I personally caught a lot of it when Leona Lewis was on, who's an amazing artist. So to say yes to Simon was an honour, especially as I know the show so well.”
Shakira will be the celebrity guest on this Sunday's show, and Susan Boyle will perform her debut single: “Wild Horses” on the 22nd.

The Ting Tings

Things are looking even more promising for ‘The Ting Tings’ to break into the US market as they’ve been working with Jay-Z on new material and they signed to his ‘Roc Nation’ record label in America.
The Ting Tings have spent the last six months writing songs for their second album, due for release in spring 2010. Jay-Z will be producing a number of tracks for the duo from Manchester.
“Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material,” a source told the Daily Star. “The staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction.
“Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands in America”… I certainly agree and I hope their follow up is just as good as their debut! ~ Can’t wait!
