Scissor Sisters

The Scissor Sisters have claimed that the recession is putting the future of live music in jeopardy...
Financial difficulties have forced The Scissor Sisters to abandon a number of planned European festival dates this year... Speaking to a national newspaper front man Jake Shears said... “People are cancelling tours all over the place. It’s a very expensive thing to get even a well-known band on the road,”
Guitarist Del Marquis added: “We were supposed to be really busy this summer but festivals keep going under... “Hultsfred in Sweden just went bankrupt, as did Norway’s Kristiansand. It’s scary because for a while it seemed live music was a safe buck for the industry, but not anymore.”
They also said that they are surprised of their success of their new album in America: “The album is doing well in America. Surprisingly we are Top 10,” ~ “The Brits couldn’t wait for us to come back and it seems the Americans couldn’t either, so we’ve never been happier.”

Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon surprised fans during a London gig by showcasing four brand new tracks from their forthcoming album... The guys have been working on their follow-up to 2008's global smash ‘Only by the night’ played the new material at a gig in Hyde Park to 60,000 fans. The new song titles included ‘Radioactive’, ‘Immortal’ and ‘Southbound’.
Front man Caleb Followill said: “Since we saw you guys last we went and made a record. That's what we put a lot of work into... “Just yesterday some people at the record label got to hear a couple of songs from it. I don't know if they want us to play a bunch of new songs but I think 'f**k it' - were gonna do it!”
Towards the end of the gig, Caleb also admitted that the concert was one of the highlights of his career... “It's been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Thank you all very much. One of these days, when we're all fat and bald... or balder, and we're sitting in Tennessee telling all our kids about all the great things that happened to us, this is gonna be one of those.”
I can't wait to hear the songs!

Drake

Canadian rapper Drake has announced that he is postponing his European tour to care for his ill mother.
In a statement released on Thursday it went on to explain that his mum suffers from an arthritic condition which causes extreme pain and fatigue, explained the last minute decision “Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated,” he said... “In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years. I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family's privacy during this time.”
Drake previously admitted that he is scared to lose his mother, who he described as “the most supportive person in [his] life”... Hope she gets well soon man! I’m sure your fans will understand, and good on ya for stepping up to look after her yourself!

Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith has confirmed that she will re-release her single ‘New York’
The track peaked at No.15 in the UK chart when it was released last September as the second single from Faith's debut album ‘Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?’.
According to Paloma’s official website, an updated version of the song featuring Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah is due for release on 1st August.
The track, which can be heard on her website, was added to the most recent Radio 1 playlist... I don't see the point myself (even though it's a fantastic track!)

Will.i.am

How cool ... Lol, Will.i.am had more than £6,600 worth of jewellery stolen from his Bentley while it was parked in the Hollywood Hills, and his brand-new iPad was also among the items... however he used the i-pads tracking system to pinpoint its whereabouts and passed on the information to the police! The cops homed in on the haul meaning that Will.i.am got most of his gear returned. .. How cool is that!
