Amel Bent - Où Je Vais

Après un dernier album au succès aussi relatif qu'il était nuancé (du rap avec Diam's à la magnifique ballade que lui avait écrite Charles Aznavour), Amel Bent opère en cette fin d'année 2009 un retour gagnant.


Plus soul que jamais, la belle dévoilait lundi dernier en exclusivité sur son site internet son nouveau single : "Où Je Vais", à qui voulait bien s'inscrire à sa newsletter (...ils sont pas bêtes chez Jive/Epic, son label !).

Frais et mélancolique, automnal à souhait donc, le titre jongle entre douces paroles et envolées vocales. On retrouve avec un immense plaisir Amel dans ce qu'elle fait de mieux : la (trop présente ?) démonstration de sa voix chaleureuse, dense et enlevée à la fois, touchante en somme.

Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, (et dans une autre mesure) Amel Bent... Décidément ! Après une fin 2008 très pop/rock, Noël 2009 sera beaucoup plus soul !

Britney Spears - 3

Juillet 2009. Peu après ses 3 dates françaises à Paris Bercy, Britney Spears fait escale en Suède dans le cadre de son Circus Tour. La belle poste alors sur son twitter un court message dont le buzz sera immédiat : "En studio avec Max !".


Max c'est Max Martin, le producteur de tous ses plus grands succès : Baby One More Time (qui l'a révélée), Oops ! I Did It Again ou plus récemment If U Seek Amy. Max Martin, c'est l'un des producteurs pop les plus prisés au monde.

Difficile de croire à un nouvel opus. Après Blackout et Circus sortis à à peine un an d'intervalle, la star a enchaîné avec une tournée mondiale de plus de 10 mois. Agenda trop chargé pour se consacrer pleinement à la création d'un album.


Le fin mot de l'histoire c'est que Britney a enregistré 2 titres inédits. Ils seront publiés dans "The Singles Collection", la compilation de ses 10 ans de carrière. Dès le 23 novembre, ce deuxième best-of (après "My Prerogative" en 2004) sera disponible en édition normale (boîtier CD classique) et en édition collector. Cette dernière, pensée véritablement pour les fans sera en fait un coffret avec chacun des singles sur des CD's différents, avec en face B des remixes rares.


Premier inédit à assurer la promotion de "The Singles Collection", 3 était aujourd'hui révélé au monde entier par une mise en radio dans la matinale Elvis Duran And The Morning Zoo de Z100 (l'équivalent d'NRJ à New York), en France à 13h00. Pour l'anecdote, Fun Radio se targuait hier par communiqué de presse d'avoir l'exclusivité française et programmait sa première diffusion sur son antenne à 18h. Mystérieusement, les plans ont changé ce matin même.

3 est une bombe de plus dans le catalogue de la Princesse de la Pop. Ultra formaté (2 couplets, un break, 4 refrains découpés en deux parties symétriques) mais ultra efficace (entêtant, bonne production), on se demande où s'arrêtera la belle après avoir proposé une dizaine de singles en deux ans*. Va ptêt falloir penser à la ménager un peu à ma Britney chérie non ?

Black Eyed Peas

The comeback of the year award definitely has to go to “The Black Eyed Peas” (Sorry Whitney…)
Even though “The Peas” are dominating the charts all over the globe they are gearing up to release their 3rd single from their record breaking album “The E.N.D” (The E.N.D. stands for “The Energy Never Dies”) titled: “Meet me halfway”.
It’s a change in sound from their previous two singles, but still as brilliant and catchy! “Meet me halfway” which is released on November 2nd sees Fergie come more to the front vocally on this mellower track.

On September 8th the Black Eyed Peas performed live for Oprah Winfrey's 24th Season Kickoff Party, on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

Tinchy Stryder

Tinchy Stryder will release (probably the best song on his album) “You're Not Alone” on the 2nd November… Although I can’t help thinking I love this track so much ‘cos of the “Olive” sample! (Which was a massive No.1 back in 1996)
Either way this tune is going to be everywhere over the coming months and will be as massive as his No.1 single which was called “Number 1” (feat… N-Dubz)

Reead - Nobody's Innocent

Après avoir surfé sur le buzz du clip de Make The Girl Dance pour son single Baby, Reead propose depuis quelques jours un nouveau titre : Nobody's Innocent.


La vidéo est tout aussi sensuelle que la précédente, un brin provocatrice même, et sert un morceau bien produit et plutôt efficace.

80’s band “Spandau Ballet” have confirmed they are to release their first new single for over 20 years!
If their new song titled “Once more” gets into the UK Top 40 then it would be 22 years since their last Top 40 hit “How many lies” which made No. 34 back in 1987.
The bands new album is also expected to hit shops in November … Good Luck fellas!

Spandau Ballet achieved 10 Top Ten singles and 4 Top Ten albums in the U.K between 1979 and 1990 and sold a massive 25 MILLION records!

Train est un groupe pop-folk rock américain qui marche vraiment pas mal là bas, avec déjà 4 albums au compteur et 4 disques de platines au dessus de la cheminée. A l'aube de la sortie de leur nouvel opus (fin octobre), ils viennent d'ailleurs de fêter leurs 11 ans de carrière...


Et ouais... Quand même ! Sauf que je n'en avais jamais entendu parler. Jamais jusqu'à ce que je tombe - en farfouillant un peu partout à la recherche de nouveaux sons comme j'aime le faire - sur leur nouveau single "Hey, Soul Sister".


Jolies paroles, très belle mélodie et Martin TERFE à la production (Jason MRAZ, KT Tunstall), il ne m'en fallait pas plus. J'adore, j'adore, j'adore.

Michael Jackson’s new single titled “This Is It” will be released as a single on October 12th
“This is it” features Michael's brothers, (The Jackson’s) is part of a double album of music from the upcoming “This Is It” film, which documents Michaels Jackson’s final days rehearsing for his concerts in L.A before his death.
The “This Is It” album will be released worldwide on October 26th (27th in America). The movie is in cinemas from 28th October but will only be shown for a 2 week period!

Lily Allen et Ours - 22

Alors que Lily Allen perce (enfin) chez nous avec Fuck You, son label propose déjà aux radios son nouveau single : 22.


Seulement voilà, dans notre pays, les radios sont soumises à ce que l'on appelle la "règle des quotas français". Chaque radio a donc pour obligation (suivant sa convention avec le CSA) de diffuser un certain pourcentage de chansons francophones. Et attention, il s'agit bien d'un quota d'expression francophone, pas de "création française" ! Martin Solveig, David Guetta and Co, ça compte pas... au grand damn notamment de Fun Radio qui avait tenté, en vain, de se faire entendre sur ce sujet il y a quelques mois.

C'est ainsi qu'on se retrouve très régulièrement avec des titres francophones à qualité variable en radio, voire même avec des versions mi-françaises / mi-anglaises. Quelques exemples : Enrique Iglesias ft. Nadiya ("Laisse le destin l'emporter"), Ocean Drive ft. DJ Oriska ("Some People - Ton désir", "Without You - Perdue Sans Toi"), One Republic ft. Sheryfa Luna ("Say - A l'infini") ou encore l'horrible massacre de "Mistake" de Moby. Ces réadaptations sont pour la plupart pensées en pures stratégies marketing, de façon à rentrer dans ces "quotas français", à laisser ainsi plus de chances aux titres d'avoir de la visibilité en radio.



Et alors que Fuck You signe un véritable carton en France (il a été #1 en téléchargement légal, #1 en airplay radio, #1 en airplay TV, #7 en single physique), c'est en franglais que Lily Allen propose son nouveau titre dans l'Hexagone, en duo avec Charles 'Ours' Souchon, deuxième fils d'Alain (Souchon).


Duo d'autant plus intéressant qu'EMI Angleterre (son label) assure qu'il s'agit d'une véritable collaboration artistique, pas d'un coup de business. Le résultat est relativement bon... mais aurait pu l'être bien plus si le mixage de la chanson n'avait pas quasi-complètement effacé Ours. Le volume sonore de la voix du chanteur est tellement bas sur le refrain qu'on ne comprend rien aux paroles !

Beyoncé is gearing up to release her 4th single from her current album “I am Sasha Fierce”.
The track “Broken Hearted Girl” is a beautiful balled and one of the best tracks off the double C.D.
Beyoncé is going to release a massive 8 SINGLES in total from the multi platinum album … I hope “Disappear” will be one of ‘em, as it’s one of the best ballads on the album!
Tickets for two concerts at "The O2" gig in Dublin have all been snapped up, but i'm hoping to get my hands on one! (i've seen her twice before, and she AMAZING live!)

Here it is girls (and some boys)… The new song and video from JLS “Everybody in love”.
The kids are gonna love it, the adults …. Mmm, well they might like the look of ‘em but as for the song, it isn’t great!
It appears there going down the cheesy boy band road (as in “Upside down” or "One True voice") – and we all know what happened to them (in fact some of you are probably saying “who” … and that would be my point)
Aston even looks like he’s in pain at some points!

"Wild Horses", le premier single de Susan Boyle.

Elle est à elle-seule un phénomène sociétal et musical, à ce jour le plus gros buzz de 2009. 47 ans, sans-emploi, célibataire et pas vraiment fashion victim, Susan Boyle surprend l'Angleterre puis en quelques heures le monde entier avec la diffusion de la vidéo de sa prestation au casting de Britain's Got Talent (équivalent anglais d'Incroyable Talent).


Passées les moqueries lors de son entrée en scène, jury, public, téléspectateurs et 40 millions d'internautes sont tous subjugués par sa reprrise de "I Dreamed A Dream" (de la comédie musicale "Les Miserables").

L'attachante écossaise trébuchera en finale du télé-crochet mais son incroyable succès populaire attise les convoitises : des tabloïds d'abord (à qui elle accordera une séance photo ridicule) et des producteurs surtout. Susan décide de s'allier à Simon Cowell, membre des jurys et surtout producteur d'American Idol, The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent et America's Got Talent.


Susan Boyle devrait sortir son premier album "I Dreamed A Dream" le 23 novembre prochain, qui comportera essentiellement des reprises ("I Dreamed A Dream" forcément, "Memory", ...). La preuve en est avec ce premier single, qui a filtré sur le net en début de semaine : "Wild Horses", d'après l'original des Rolling Stones (1971 sur l'album "Sticky Fingers").

Leona Lewis gave the first performance of her new single "Happy" on the final of America’s Got Talent and it was spectacular (as usual, she could sing the phone book though!).
This is gonna be another global smash! (not as good as bleeding love) Leona co-wrote the track with Ryan Tedder (from "One Republic")

Cheryl Cole

I’ve heard a few versions of Cheryl Cole’s new single “Fight for This Love” and probably the best is “The Thin Red Men” Remix, the track alone is actually quiet disappointing, especially as her debut (with Will.i.am) last year was a great track.

David Cook

I went to see last years “American idol” winner: David Cook in Hollywood, C.A. and apart from a couple of “dodgy” songs, David was absolutely fantastic!
He even came out an hour before he was due on stage during his support acts set to sing a duet with them!

Bucky Covington giving FREE concert

After earning national recognition as a finalist on “American Idol” and firmly establishing himself as one of country music’s most genuine and exciting entertainers with three consecutive Top 10 hit singles and the best-selling country debut release of the 2007 class, Bucky Covington is returning to his roots for his first hometown concert in Rockingham, NC.

“When I was on American Idol the whole town pulled together – all of the business, churches - everyone. They all went above and beyond to help out and show me their support,” remembers Bucky. “Now it’s my time to give back.”

For Covington this homecoming is a way of giving back to the community that has supported him over the years, and to show his deep appreciation he will be hosting an unprecedented party in the city’s Harrington Square featuring a free concert on September 26, 2009 at 7:00pm. In addition to the concert, Covington’s planned activities include taking part in the local BackPack Pals outreach program, which provides nutritional weekend meals and snacks to children whose primary source of food is the local school cafeteria. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a canned good or other non-perishable food item to help support the community’s BackPack Pals program and Our Daily Bread Christian Food Ministry.

“One of the best places to play is at home,” says Bucky. “We’ve had the incredible privilege of playing shows in Europe, Alaska and all across the States, but there’s nothing like going home and performing. Every time you look out at the crowd, you see people you know. And to be able to help out BackPack Pals, which is such a great organization and worthy cause, tops off this homecoming.”


Bucky Covington’s self-titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in April 2007 with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He's the best selling debut artist of the 2007 class and is one of only three male country artists since 2005 to have three consecutive top 10 singles from his debut album.

Kanye West rafle le prix du goujat de l'année !

L'événement musical de cette rentrée (comme à toutes les rentrées), c'était sans conteste la nouvelle édition des MTV Video Music Awards ! La cérémonie, qui se tenait dans le prestigieux Radio City Hall de New York, accueillait les non moins prestigieuses stars maison Lady GaGa, Nelly Furtado, Ne-Yo, Katy Perry, Shakira, Pink, Pitbull, Jay-Z mais aussi Beyoncé, Kanye West et Taylor Swift (phénomène de l'année aux Etats Unis).


C'est justement ce trio qui nous intéresse. Beyoncé et Taylor Swift étaient toutes deux nominées dans la catégorie Meilleur Clip d'une Artiste Féminine, que Taylor Swift remporte. La ptite (19 ans) vient chercher son joli trophée en forme de Neil Armstrong et commence son so charming discours lorsque tout à coup Kanye West fait irruption sur scène, lui arrache le micro des mains et lui tient ce discours très classieux :

Taylor, jsuis content pour toi. Mais c'est Beyoncé qui avait le meilleur clip !

La mini-pousse de la pop-country, abasourdie, n'arrive pas à reprendre la parole. Beyoncé, elle, fait un grand sourire et garde son royal popotin bien au fond de son siège... jusqu'à ce joli coup de théâtre où, recevant à son tour un prix, elle demande à Taylor de la rejoindre sur scène. Ca mérite un ptit bon point d'ailleurs. C'est bien BeBe (vanne sous copyright).



L'incident fait tout de même grand bruit. Dans la salle d'abord où Kanye West se fait huer. Sur le net ensuite, où le buzz s'affole en quelques minutes. Au point que le rappeur a posté hier après-midi sur son blog un message d'excuses !

Je me sens comme Ben Stiller dans "Mon Beau-Père et moi" lorsqu'il fout tout en l'air et que Robert De Niro l'oblige à partir... C'était un moment important pour Taylor et je n'avais aucunement le droit de lui voler. Je suis vraiment désolé.

Bah oui mais à un moment faut arrêter les conneries et dégonfler la montgolfière que tu as à la place du cerveau garçon ! Non mais c'est vrai quoi. Va falloir qu'il redescende sur Terre un jour et qu'il arrête de se prendre pour Dieu le Père (cf. les interviews qu'il avait donné avant la sortie de son dernier album où il annonçait qu'il était une force de création trop méconnue, un génie de son temps).


P!nk ne mâche pas ses mots elle non plus. Elle a déclaré : "Kanye West est la plus grande m*rde du monde !".
