In September 2011, the world's largest and most intriguing crabs will crawl into town to take centre stage in a spectacular new exhibition. Currently the largest crab at Sydney Aquarium is Bruce, he's a Giant Tasmanian Crab, clocks in at a hefty 10kg!
While Bruce has enjoyed the recognition that comes from being the biggest, this is all about to change. Bruce will be handing over his reins in September 2011 when Japanese Spider Crabs arrive for the highly anticipated CLAWS! exhibition at Sydney Aquarium.
Don't worry though, Bruce will continue to thoroughly enjoy visits from children and adults alike, and will still be keen for fun activities including sourcing tasty morsels on the floor of his tank with his enormous pincers, all to the delight of Sydney Aquarium visitors.
