Sydney on Show in Lady Gaga Concert

Sydney joined Lady Gaga centre stage in a broadcast of the Queen of Pop’s recent concert at Sydney’s “Monster Town Hall”.
Destination NSW secured promotion of the city in a worldwide exclusive which aired last Friday on Channel 9, Channel V and GO in Australia and included web broadcast on Sydney Australia on Facebook, Take40Australia Online and News Limited websites.

Lady Gaga is a global phenomenon and the “Monster Hall” show was broadcast including iconic Sydney locations.

Destination NSW entered into a strategic partnership with MCM Media to showcase Sydney as Australia’s premier destination to appeal to younger travellers. The concert, at Sydney’s Town Hall on 13 July, was an exclusive event where tickets were won via Facebook.

As part of Destination NSW’s youth program, some of our celebrity supporters attended the concert such as Danny Clayton, Matilda Brown and Dan Hong. Gaga In Sydney For One-Off Gig

US pop star Lady Gaga has arrived in Sydney ahead of a single, invite-only show at Town Hall on Wednesday.

Looking every inch the glamorous misfit, Gaga stepped out of a private jet on Saturday in a floor-length cream dress with ruffled shoulders and adorned with a wide black, Batman-style belt.

Sky-high platform shoes, black elbow length gloves, a black and white coloured hairdo - a crossbred of Princess Leia hair and Mickey Mouse ears - and white reflective sunglasses completed the look.

Gaga entered the international terminal through an entrance reserved for private aircraft travellers before climbing into a black limousine and being whisked away.

Just 1,000 people have scored an invitation to see Gaga's show at Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday night.

Gaga's new album, Born This Way, is the fastest selling album of the year around the word, her minders claim.

Debuting at number one in more than 27 countries, including Australia, the US and UK, it has so far chalked up sales of more than 5 million copies worldwide.

Lady Gaga's Exclusive Sydney Gig

FEWER than 1000 fans will get to see Lady Gaga's one-off Sydney show on July 13. The Poker Face singer is scheduled for a flying visit to promote her new album, Born This Way, and it will be her only performance this time around. She has booked the Sydney Town Hall for the gig and plans to rename it the Sydney Monster Hall for the occasion. Competitions for tickets will begin on FM radio stations this week.

Those running Take 40 programs, Vodafone, the Today network and Channel [V] are all offering tickets. The star is also giving fans across the country a shot at tickets as long as they prove their dedication - from June 8, a Facebook page will be set up to accept pictures of the most extravagant ''little monsters'' out there.

The concert, set to be hosted by 2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O, will feature a stripped-down production of Lady Gaga's usual touring extravagance. But for a singer who entered the Grammy Awards presentation in a giant egg and emerged from coffin at a recent British performance, fans are likely to expect nothing short of spectacular.

Lady Gaga has not ruled out returning for a full Australian tour and has been quoted saying she will be back early next year for what she has dubbed the Born This Way Ball. Her previous Australia tour was in March last year.
